Worried about ASHP Accreditation?

Just the thought of the accreditation process can make you crazy. Mapping your own curriculum to the 46 goals established by the ASHP can be daunting and time consuming.

To ease your worries, Paradigm Education Solutions has created a mapping guide for all the 46 goals from the ASHP’s Model Curriculum for Pharmacy Technician Education and Training Programs, Fourth Edition to each book in its series, noting the chapter where each goal is addressed. Pharmacy Practice for Technicians, 6e, touches on every single goal, with hands-on lab experiences for those that are appropriate in the accompanying Pharmacy Labs for Technicians, 3e.

Each of the other titles – Pharmacology for Technicians, 6e; Pharmacy Calculations for Technicians, 4e; Certification Exam Review, 4e; and the upcoming Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique, 2e (2017), all enhance the goal coverage in their topical areas. To top it off, there is the Pocket Drug Guide and the Drugs and Terms app for take-anywhere studying to get to know those top 200 drugs!

Each ASHP content goal is reinforced by coverage from different perspectives in at least 2 but generally 3 or 4 titles in the series! This map provides a visual guide that you can use in program planning and in verifying with ASHP surveyors how well each goal is covered. Access the map here.

* The ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) is an independent national professional organization of pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacy technicians. It has encouraged all pharmacy technician programs and educators to use its model curriculum and seek ASHP accreditation. The ASHP has had no participation in this mapping alignment guide.
